The following is the most common questions sometimes asked. Select the drop-down menu to reveal the answers to the respective questions. If your question is not answered here, do not hesitate to contact us.
What exactly do I sell?
I sell brand identity design that differentiates my clients companies from their competitors, boosting client profits by helping them attract and retain their ideal customer base. You can view a range of specific deliverables here.
This person charges less. Can you match that?
Design is not a commodity.
A commodity is anything for which there is demand, but which is supplied without qualitative differentiation across a market. In other words, copper is copper. Rice is rice. Stereos, on the other hand, have many levels of quality. And, the better a stereo is, the more it will cost. – WIKIPEDIA
Just as a client chooses the designer, the designer also chooses the client. It is up to the designer to work with those who value the services he is providing. All my clients are satisfied. You can read a few of their testimonials here.
How much does it cost to work with me?
What I charge varies depending on the specific needs of each client, and I am happy to provide a quote when I learn more about the design brief and project requirements. Think of your business brand identity design as an investment. It is a venture that when combined with a great product or service will pay off year upon year for the entire life of your business. If you like what I do and you understand just how profitable good design can be, then I guess we will talk. This will be nice, I guarantee you will never regret this.
How long will the project take to complete?
This is very varied depending on the project and the media to effect the finish piece. Time frames vary from two weeks to three months or more, with the schedule depending almost entirely on project deliverables and back and forth with person managing the project and approval delays.
Can you start right away?
It is quite possible, but I focus on current clients project already in house, I never accept more than two or three projects at any one time. Get in touch with me with specifics as it relates to the project you require to have done. An assessment will be done and a decision will be taken if the project can be started right away.
What does the process involve, What exactly do I receive during the course of the project?
The process involves a brief overview of the project requirement and the design application process. I normally send clients a PDF presentation showing one or two effective design and brand identity options. The designs maybe displayed in a variety of formats and contexts to give clients a look at how the identity adapts across different media points if this is a part of the requirement.
You are in a different country. Will this affect things?
The majority of my clients currently are from outside the USA, mainly due to the fact that I have studied and practice graphic design in Jamaica for the last 35 years. This has not adversely affected any of my design projects with clients that I have had in Canada, USA and Turks and Caicos, As I enjoy meeting clients face-to-face, communication via telephone, Skype, and email can often save considerable time and the work get done just as well.
How do you accept payment?
With most projects I request a 50% downpayment prior to scheduling the work. This is payable by via bank transfer (other payment options can be considered upon request). Most often, details are included in my invoice, and the remaining 50% is payable upon completion of the project, prior to supply of original artwork. Regular clients though are not required a 50% deposit, but instead are invoiced on the completion of the project or what ever payment arrangements have been decided on.
Will you use current trends for my design?
I really do try my best to keep my visual designs to be trendy. Along with my ideas couple with client suggestions, the work I create is intended to last the duration of clients businesses unless the client require a change to their brand.
Can you recommend other graphic designers?
Yes, I can. If you can tell me what your budget is, it is possible I can point you in the right direction. I have quite a few designers that I know and have been to college with. I would be happy to recommend one. Outside of that, I could point you to on line resources.
